RNLI Sponsored Lifeguard Course (Cancelled due to lack of interest)

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) are offering a UNIQUE opportunity to BULSCA members to complete an ILS recognized beach lifeguard qualification. This will be completed during a 7 day residential course with dinner, bed and breakfast provided FREE of charge, with personal development planning, volunteer lifeguarding induction and an RNLI familiarisation training, with the possibility of spending some time on an RNLI lifeboat.

In addition to this there will be up to 4 days residential at an RNLI Area Support Centre (either Poole Bay, North Devon or Carrick) where candidates will spend time alongside professional lifeguards to undergo some elements of a lifeguards coastal induction.

Finally there will be the opportunity for candidates of the required standard to attend a 7 day expenses paid lifeguard placement with an RNLI lifeguard unit.

In return all the RNLI are asking is that candidates help run an RNLI fundraiser, with the help of the BULSCA, at some point in the year following their course.
