Officiating (Judging)

198219_10150449540735471_7461458_nWould you like to judge at competitions?

BULSCA aim to run at least one Judges course per year, but we are also looking to run more so if your interested then get in touch!

This will be an RLSS UK Official – Level 1 course, usually followed by a briefing from a senior BULSCA judge about officiating at our competitions.

If you are, or become within a year of the course, an RLSS UK Survive & Save Instructor or Pool/Beach Lifeguard Trainer Assessor, this course will qualify you to officiate at RLSS Branch Level competitions.

Further details of the judges course are released around 6 weeks before it runs, but more information can be sought by contacting the Club Development Officer.

After Completing the Course

Once you’ve completed the course you will be classed as a probationary BULSCA official. In order to then become a full BULSCA official you must shadow at one of our competitions. Shadowing involves working alongside one of our existing officials to give you experience of judging at our events.

Once the shadowing requirement is complete you become a full BULSCA official and are eligible to Judge at all our events. If you judge at 4 of our competitions in a league year you will be promoted to a Senior BULSCA official.

Full details of our judging pathway are available in the Officiating Pathway.
