University of Plymouth Surf Lifesaving Club

The University of Plymouth Surf Lifesaving Club
We are a revolutionary sports club who are becoming the dominating force across Lifesaving in all of the universities, taking silver medal overall at 2012 Championships in Bath. And winning the RNLI Simulated Incident in the 2015 Championships. With also receiving many podium placing titles in individual events.
Throughout the year we can offer pool lifeguarding courses and training (NPLQ), beach lifeguarding courses (SLSGB/RLSS), first aid courses and even inshore rescue boat courses! So far we have a 100% pass rate in all of these courses. And have trained over 50 lifesavers.
Plymouth Surf Lifesaving club are the only university SURF lifesaving club, we offer beach training sessions every weekend and in October 2015 we are holding the first ever ‘UPSLC Beach Weekend’ this will be available to all BULSCA members.
Our very active club consists of at least once a fortnight socials,  Monday and Wednesday pool training, Sunday beach training and various University competitions around the UK. We also provide heavily discounted courses and a lot of job opportunities and prospects.
So far in 2014/15 UPSLC have trained over 20 Beach Lifeguards that have all gone off the following summer to work on the local beaches for the RNLI, this being a valuable rewarding job prospect for all students, as you learn teamwork and putting your skills into practice, with it also being seasonal. UPSLC have also trained 8+ Pool Lifeguards that could use this to work while at university.
The University of Plymouth Surf Lifesaving Club 2015/2016 are planning a very exciting academic year ahead!
