Rope Throw

Rope Throw

Rope Throw

The aim of the event is to throw your rope to some one as fast as you can, who is in the pool 12 metres away.

The thrower coils the line as fast as he/she can and throw to the catcher.  He/she catches the rope if in reach of it.  An almost purely skills based event, the rope throw otherwise known as the line throw is always a thrilling event to watch as everyone hopes toe rope hits it’s target first time.

This can be done on your own or as a team of 4, and either in a speeds or conventional manner.  During a speeds the catcher kicks head down as they are pulled into the side.

The RLSS speed rules are.

The team relay rope throw is described below

  1. Team member no.1 starts on the side with the rope outstretched
  2. Team member no.2 will hold the cross line and rope.  The rest of the team will be behind the cross line.
  3. On the start signal team member no.1 will coil and throw the rope to no.2 and once they have caught it, will pull them in.
  4. As soon as no.2 has touched the wall, no.1 must put down the rope and not touch it any further.
  5. The rest of the team shall continue as above from point 3.
  6. The time will stop when all team members have thrown the rope and no.1 is pulled in and touches the wall.
  7. The time limit for this event is 2minutes 30 seconds.
