Endurance Events

Meadly

These events are designed to test the competitor’s endurance levels with a range of skills.

There are 3 event in this catagory . Click on the event to see the official rules.

200m Obstacle: See Obstacle

200m Super Lifesaver:The competitor dives in and swims 75 metres to a submerged full manikin (8 ½ stone), collecting it and carrying it back 25 metres.  He/she then turns to put on a pair of fins and a rescue tube before swimming a further 50 metres.  At this point the competitor collects a half full manikin, clips the rescue tube round it and sprints a further 50 metres home.  This is one of many challenges and enjoyable to watch.

100m Rescue Medley:This is again a test of the endurance.  Dive starting, the competitor swims 50 metres freestyle tumble or touch turning before pushing off and swimming 17½ metres underwater to a full manikin.  Breath at any point of this 17½ metres and you’re disqualified.  Collect the manikin and carry it the remaining 32½ metres to the finish.  This is definitely one of those who have lungs the size of a whale!
